October
Email Update
Hi Everyone,
Amanda and Krysta had their 2 month check up
last Friday and are both doing great! Amanda is 13 lbs. 3 oz. and is 23
1/4 inches and Krysta is 11 lbs. 5 1/2 oz. and is 23 1/4 inches. They
are both in the 95th percentile for length, Amanda is in the 90th for weight
and Krysta is in the 75th for weight. The doctor checked them out and
everything is perfect. They had to get four shots each and that was
horrible (but necessary)! They have to get four more at the next visit,
too. :-( Neither of them had any adverse reactions later in the day, so
that was good. Krysta slept most of the day, but Amanda was wide awake
and then crashed at night! :-)
They are both smiling so much now and
"talking" to us all the time. They are really alert and stay
awake alot during the day. They've been sleeping about 5 hours at night,
so Mommy and Daddy have been getting some sleep, too.
They are both starting to get teeth already!
We were shocked - they are about 4 months early! I think we have two
little over achievers! :-) It's really hard on them because they don't
know how to hold toys and chew on them yet. They haven't been too
miserable yet, so hopefully the teeth will come in easily for them.
We've been taking lots more pictures and I'll
let you know when the October pics are up on the web site. Thank you for
visiting it and for letting me know how you liked it.
We hope you are all doing well. I'm sorry
I haven't been able to keep us on emails, but I know you understand! :-)
Take care!
Love,
Denise & Buddy

Email Update
Hi Everyone!
The girls had their four month checkup on
December 20th and they are both doing great! Amanda is 17 lbs. 13 oz., 26
inches long and her head circumference is 43.5 cm. Krysta is 14 lbs. 15
oz., 25 inches long and her head circumference is 41 cm. They are both
healthy and growing well. They had to have 4 more shots this visit, but
they handled it ok (we did better this time, too!). Two nurses did the
shots so they could do the girls together and I think this worked
better than one at a time.
We started them on rice cereal last Saturday
and they are both enjoying that! Krysta did better with it at first, but
it only took Amanda a couple of days to decide that it wasn't too bad!
The doc said we could introduce oatmeal cereal next and then one new fruit or
vegetable per week. They really like sitting up in their high chairs -
better view to see what's going on.
They have both been sleeping through the night
for about 2 months now. We moved them into their big cribs in their own
room at the end of November. They did great with it. They were
ready before that, but we weren't!
They are both laughing, smiling and
"talking" so much now. They have mastered holding things and
reaching for things and love to see what everything tastes like. LOL
They both have signs of teething still and we can see bumps under their gums,
but no teeth have come through yet. At least now they can hold and chew
on toys to help. Neither one of them likes to be on her tummy for very
long, but they do hold their heads up and can push up a little. Krysta
likes to roll to her side, but hasn't figured out how to flip over yet.
Amanda has only turned on her side once or twice and hasn't rolled over yet
either. They both love to kick and flail and to push off with their
legs. It seems like each week they are perfecting a skill or learning a
new one - they are so amazing!
We had a great (but busy) Christmas! The
girls had no clue what was going on, but they loved all the attention.
They really enjoyed looking at all the lights and we had fun buying
them lots of presents. :-)
Life has been extra hectic with the holidays,
but it seems to be getting a little calmer now and we are updating the web
site. We'll let you know when the new pictures are up. I'm
attaching two from Christmas so you can see how much they've changed.
I went back to work in the beginning of
December. I'm working part-time for now. It is really hard
being away from the girls, even for just a few hours, but they are having
fun staying with their Grammy. Buddy is doing great at his new job.
The company is going to be moving in February and he'll have to drive
instead of taking the train, but it is a great company so he'll deal with
the traffic!
We hope everyone is doing well. Take
care and have a happy and safe New Year's!
Love,
Denise & Buddy

February
Email Update
Hi Everyone,
Amanda & Krysta had their 6 month checkup
on the 16th and they are both doing great! Amanda is 20 lbs 5 oz and 27 1/2
inches long and her head is 45 cm (she is 95th - 100th percentile) and Krysta
is 17 lbs 5 oz and 27 inches long and her head is 43.5 cm (she is 75th
percentile). They only had to get 3 shots each and only whimpered a little
bit, no screaming this time - we were so proud of them!
We have gone through all the veges and are now
doing fruits and they have loved everything! The doc said we could do a
new one every 3-4 days now instead of 5-7 since they are older). She told
us not to worry about doing solids more than once a day yet since they are still
getting all their nutrition from the formula, but if we wanted to we could
add another solid feeding after we finished going through the fruits.
We'll probably start giving them solids in the morning too, just to get them
working towards a 3 meal schedule.
Amanda rolled from back to tummy a couple of
weeks ago, but hasn't figured out she can go back yet! At least now she stays on
her tummy longer before screaming! Krysta is almost there - she just
hasn't made it all the way over yet. They both do great sitting up, but we
still put the Boppy pillows around them, since they still like to throw
themselves backwards now and then! We are starting to figure out what we
need to baby proof the house since it won't be long before the girls are mobile!
We are looking forward to the spring and some
warm weather so we can get out more with the girls and take some nice walks
around the neighborhood. They are getting on a more predictable schedule
so it will be easier to go out with them in the spring and summer.
The girls love playing in their exersaucers
and bounce and spin around - and of course throw all the toys we give them on
the floor! They play together in the playpen and do pretty well at
sharing toys, so far! Both of them are doing great with fine motor skills and
grab anything in reach! They especially like grabbing their toes and each others
toes (and anyone else's toes)! When we lay them down for diaper and
clothes changes they immediately put their legs up and grab their feet
- it's now a wrestling match to change a diaper or get them dressed. :-)
They are taking baths in the big tub in bath
seats and last Saturday they took their 1st bath together - they loved it!
They were splashing, laughing and playing with their toys - it was so cute!
They interact with each other alot now and it is so wonderful to watch them
smiling and playing with each other. We are still amazed by them everyday.
The company Buddy works for moved, so he has
been very busy at work and now has to drive instead of taking the commuter rail.
He was working alot of extra hours before and after the move, but he is getting
back into a more regular schedule now.
We hope everyone is doing well. Someday
we'll get some more pics on the web site, but I attached some for you to look at
for now.
Take care!
Love,
Denise & Buddy
