Hi Everyone,
We had another Level 2 u/s today and found out we are having two girls!! Both of them are doing really well so far. They are both 1 lb. 1 oz. which is right where they should be. It is also good that they are the same size since it means they are both growing at the right rate. All of their measurements (head, leg, arm, belly) are all very close to each other, too and their average age in weeks and days (by the measurements) falls within 2-3 days of their actual gestational age, which is also great.
The doctor said everything looks fine with Twin A so far. With Twin B they still have some of the organs to look at and measurements to get, but she isn't in a good position. From what they have, the doc said she looks fine as well, but they want to get the other shots, so I have another one scheduled for 5/22.
They both have 3 vessel umbilical cords (which is what they are supposed to have) and Twin A (the one closest to the cervix) is still head down and she has a posterior placenta (attached in the back of the uterus), so she is the one I feel most of the time. Twin B is above A and is transverse (laying sideways) and her placenta is anterior (attached in front) so it gets in the way of feeling most of her movements until her kicks get stronger.
We are thrilled that they are both doing so well and we just hope their growth continues to stay right on track and that they continue to do well.
We did get some pics today, but our scanner is not hooked up right now, so we'll scan them in a few days and send them out.
We hope everyone is doing well. Take care!
Love,
Denise & Buddy, parents of Zachary Michael b/s 7/26/99 and Little Ones edd 9/8/00
